Earthplace in Westport, Connecticut Hosts Dog Friendly Event With Walk, Pet Photographer, Pet Psychic, More

For one very special day in September, Earthplace is encouraging you to introduce your favorite canine friend to your favorite nature center. Join us on Sunday, September 27th, 2009 anytime between 10-4 to begin your dog walk on the Earthplace sanctuary located at 10 Woodside Lane, Westport, CT. Two and four-legged participants will enjoy nature-themed Watering Holes along the route.

Entrance to the Walk is only $15.00 with pre-registration, or $20 at the door. Ask your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor your walk. Entrance fees will be waived for those who raise $25.00 or more in sponsorships! There will be prizes for walkers who raise over $50.00 in sponsorships and free gifts to all participants. There will be door prizes and a silent auction.

This event will benefit the Animal Care Programs at Earthplace and will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, vendors and exhibitors will be located in our auditorium. Volunteers will be posted near the Bird of Prey enclosures and at the entrances to the building to ensure the safety of our resident Animal Ambassadors.

Before and after your walk, you can enjoy food, fun and prizes! There will be animal related vendors, exhibitors and service providers galore including a pet photographer, animal psychic, dog trainers and more!!! See our website for the complete and growing list.

If you don't have a dog already, local rescue groups will be happy to help you find your new BFF (best Fur-ever Friend)!

There will be a police dog demo at 2pm and an agility demo. There will be a fun agility course open for all participants. A low cost microchip clinic will be running all day for you to ensure the safe return of your BFF if they ever get lost!
